Crawley Borough Council

crawley borough council
peopleCrawley is a great place to live and work. Situated half way between London and the south coast it boasts a cosmopolitan environment with some of the best countryside in the country on its doorstep.

It's a town with a real buzz. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and you'll find entertainment to suit every taste: shopping, bars and clubs, restaurants, cinema, theatre and even town centre bike races. Our shopping centre draws people in from all over the south east for its range of stores and its convenience. Everything is within walking distance or a short bus ride away.

The town attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year for both business and leisure and its diverse population makes it one of the most tolerant places in the region.

There are excellent road and rail links to London and Brighton with easy access to the continent with a short drive to Newhaven or Folkestone.street side

The town is home to Fastway, one of the most advanced public transport systems in the world to be built outside a major city. We are also environmentally friendly with a big network of cycle lanes across the town.

Crawley is thriving but, like every major town, we have our share of social and economic issues to deal with, like the economy, community safety, affordable housing etc. But Crawley Borough Council is tackling these head on with our partners across the town.

Over the next 10 years more than £1billion will be invested in new schools, a state of the art leisure centre, regenerating our town centre and in our transport infrastructure.

The Council was judged as fair by the Audit Commission and that has acted as a spur for a major change programme. We're driving up performance and improving the services we provide to our community.

Crawley is a great town. It has huge potential but faces some immense challenges.

That's what makes Crawley Council such a great place to work. You can cut your teeth on some of the most challenging issues in local government. And, no matter what you do, you will help deliver services that touch the lives of everyone in the town.

We work hard but we reward our staff well. We're innovative, flexible and family friendly. We take learning and development seriously no matter what job you do.

So, if you're looking for a challenge and are brimming with fresh ideas, then why not get in contact today?
