ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF LONDON GROUP

The Museum of London Group represents a quarter of a million years of history and over seven million modern Londoners. Our collections include over a million items. The Museum of London Group consists of the Museum of London, Museum in Docklands and Museum of London Archaeological Services.

MUSEUM OF LONDON

The Museum of London is one of the world’s largest urban history museums and is the only museum that will tell the story of London from pre-historic times to the present day when our new Capital City galleries open in 2010. Based in the heart of the City’s financial district, the Museum is in close proximity to a number of London landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral, Europe’s largest Arts Centre - The Barbican Centre, and the newly built Millennium Bridge, a pedestrian bridge leading to Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe on the South Bank.

MUSEUM IN DOCKLANDS

The Museum in Docklands explores the story of London's River, Port and People, from Roman settlement of the port, through to the recent regeneration of London's former Docklands - a 2000-year storyline. Based in West India Quay, on the banks of the River Thames, the Museum is moments away from the lively bars, restaurants and shops of Canary Wharf and is serviced by excellent transport links including the DLR and Jubilee Line.
