Climate Change and Sustainability Manager

Employer:Surrey County Council

Salary:£52,638 - £63,189

Hours:36 hours per week

Working pattern:Full Time, Permanent position

Location:Kingston upon Thames

Closing date:11/08/2008 23:00 PM

This is an opportunity to shape the future. The County Council had just adopted an ambitious Climate Change Strategy and needs an exceptional individual to develop and deliver this within the council and with partners across the county. The council already has a great deal of work in place, but wants to make a major step change in what it is achieving.

You will be based within the Environment and Regulation Service but will be expected to work with a wide range of colleagues across the council and with other organisations. It will be you who will shape the way the job is carried out, and your success will be measured by your ability to get others to change the way they do things.

You will have a commitment to sustainability issues and experience of working in this field, but more important will be superb communication skills, an ability to influence others, the drive to get things done and the confidence to provide leadership and direction.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Roger Hargreaves, Head of Environment & Regulation, on 020 8541 9302.
