Walsall Council has created a temporary 40 week placement opportunity for a student currently studying for a relevant qualification in the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Unit.

Reporting to the Emergency Planning Manager you will be committed to developing your knowledge, skills and experience in this field which will enhance your field of study. This will take place through the development and validation of emergency plans in preparation for major incidents and emergencies.

As part of your degree course you will have extensive theoretical knowledge of Civil Contingency legislation and or business continuity strategies.

The successful student will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in the profession and possess excellent organisational and communication skills. An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work is essential.

Currently studying to degree level or higher in Business Continuity, Risk Assessment or Disaster Management qualification, you will have a high level of IT literacy and be able to communicate effectively at all levels. Ideally you will be an associate member of the EPS or the BCI.
