As the manager of our scrutiny team you will play a key role in helping to deliver our goals.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual to take forward the development of the scrutiny function in Lambeth and the opportunities afforded by new government legislation. A good understanding of local government and experience of working closely with elected members and senior officers are essential requirements. You will also need to have experience of policy development and research, and the skills to expand our public engagement activities and build networks with external stakeholders and partners.

Reporting to the Head of Democratic Services and Scrutiny you will lead a team of four scrutiny officers and be expected to manage and motivate your team to deliver against a range of competing work priorities and deadlines. You will need to have strong verbal and written communications skills, possess excellent project management skills, have the abilities to understand and explain complex issues and be able to analyse and interpret service policy and performance information.
