Job Description:
The successful candidate will join the Building Control Team to support the surveyors in the administration and enforcement of the building regulations and allied legislation. You will be encouraged to participate in an approved training scheme. The team prides itself in providing excellent customer care and customer feedback is very positive, with the service being held in high regard.

Key Tasks:
. • To provide support to building control surveyors
• To assist with general administrative duties
• To participate in an approved training scheme
• To exercise and promote a high level of customer satisfaction

Job Activities:

• Become fully acquainted with building regulations and associated legislation
• Provide professional advice on building control issues.
• Become fully acquainted with office procedures and practises
• Respond to general customer enquiries and searches
• Maintain office databases and spreadsheets, including Competent Person Scheme, Housing Returns, Team Performance Statistics, and Building Control Performance Indicators.
• Deputise for registration officer and register applications and process payments
• Assist with general admin duties when necessary
• Deal with specific Building Regulations applications as appropriate
• Liaise with Development control on general enquiries
• Other duties that the manager considers appropriate.

Person Specification:
• A degree, preferably in a construction related subject
• Applicants with at least 2 A-levels will be considered for grade G3
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Good IT skills, including spreadsheets, databases, email and the internet
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Positive approach to team working
• Excellent customer care skills
