Up to maximum of 6 months fixed term

20 hours per week: Monday – Friday 9.30am – 1.30pm

An immediate start would be preferable.

An opportunity has arisen for an Accounting Services Assistant to work within the finance team for a maximum period of 6 months whilst the current postholder is acting up in another position within the team.

Reporting to the Financial Systems & Controls Manager, you will be responsible for processing cheque and cash transactions using the Civica ICON system and to reconcile the council’s revenue systems to ensure the correct allocation of cash to various funds. You will also be responsible for processing all Council Tax and Business Rates requests for refund and write offs.

Due to the nature of the post, you must be able to work in the morning (ideally between 9:30am and 1:30pm every day). You must be able to process information accurately and within specific time frame. Excellent communication skills are essential together with the ability to work effectively within finance.
