A unique opportunity has arisen to become an integral part of the operation and development of Brighton’s famous Volk's Electric Railway. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Activity Coordinator to establish a new programme of exciting events and activities, support and administer our volunteering scheme and promote the service to the public. This is a new position which has been created to further develop the railway as a visitor attraction following a large redevelopment project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Activity Co-ordinator to establish a new programme of exciting events and activities, support and administer our volunteering scheme and promote the service to the public. This is a new position which has been created to further develop the railway as a visitor attraction following a large redevelopment project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

• The person will be required to show that they have proven skills working in a visitor services role, specifically in a heritage or visitor attraction environment.

• Experience of working with volunteers and schools is essential.

• Proven marketing skills are also required in for the promotion of activities and events

• Candidates should be proficient computer literate and able to maintain and update our new website and produce regular volunteer newsletters and updates.


It is intended that there will be a second Activity Co-ordinator in post from Easter 2018, and the job share will cover 37 hours per week split across seven days. Regular weekend and evening working is required.
