The Youth Ambition Team delivers an award winning programme and is part of the Community Services area of Oxford City Council. The work of the team links into the Council’s Youth Ambition Strategy and corporate goal of creating stronger, more active communities.
The Youth Ambition Team’s aim is to build supportive relationships with disadvantaged young people to help them succeed in their lives. In support of this we are looking to recruit Activity Leaders, to work with young disadvantaged people aged 11 to 19 (or up to the age of 25 if they have physical or learning difficulties) in youth clubs, holiday schemes and multi-sports sessions.
Oxford City Council prides itself on delivering high quality, cost effective public services. Oxford is a world class city and the Council has high aspirations for its services and employees. We are a multi award winning Council and in 2015 we secured Champion IiP status along with Overall IiP Employer of the Year 2015, demonstrating our commitment to our employees and their wellbeing. We also scooped the Association of Public Sector Excellence Council of the Year award in 2015 and the Municipal Journal Best Achieving Council prize in 2014.
With over 1,200 staff dedicated to delivering the best service possible to our communities now is a truly exciting time to be working in Local Government. We are all about going above and beyond to improve outcomes for local people, and you might be surprised at the range and quality of services we provide.
We offer a great range of benefits which include generous holiday from 28 days per year plus bank holidays, Local Government defined benefit pension scheme, subsidised leisure membership, discounted travel and the ability to work flexibly in many of our roles. We offer well defined opportunities through our learning and development programme.
