If you’re looking to start your career in a supportive environment and develop essential skills to improve your employability then an apprenticeship at Waverley Borough Council is for you.
Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. At Waverley you’ll be working alongside experienced staff, gain job-specific skills, earn a wage and get holiday pay, as well as study towards a related qualification with Waverley Training Services.
A two year temporary contract earning £145.50 per week in your first year, rising to £163.67 to £263.21 at the beginning of the second year, dependent on age. 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, based at the Council offices in Godalming, Surrey.
We have four apprenticeship opportunities available in the following teams:
The Communities team covers everything from play areas to community safety, running community events across the borough, including at exciting venues.
The Housing service is responsible for maintaining the council’s housing stock. The Customer Services team has a frontline role, taking calls from tenants and working alongside contractors. The Rents team collects the rent and other charges, helping maintain people’s homes.
The Estates and Valuations team provides professional property advice to the council services and maintains the property portfolio to maximise and ensure the best use of income for the council.
The Environmental Services team has responsibility for waste management and street cleaning in Waverley by answering queries from members of the public and ensuring the waste and recycling service runs smoothly.
The HR and Finance service looks after the everyday needs of all staff, from dealing with recruitment to training opportunities and has overall responsibility for the council’s budgets.
