Are you up to the challenge of developing the pre-Games legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games in the Borough where the London Aquatics Centre is being built?
This is a new and exciting position based within the borough leisure services team. The post is funded through a partnership agreement with London Swimming and GLL and will direct and manage the delivery of the Borough’s Aquatics Strategy including schools, learn to swim and competitive levels over the next three years.
We are looking for an experienced aquatics coach with a proven sports development background. You will be required to have a good understanding of aquatics development pathways and programmes.
You will contribute to the Sports and Activities Team, linking programmes across the service as well as to the wider council and the aims of the aquatics partnership.
You will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to work with a wide range of sports and activity partners, external funders and a diverse range of community stakeholders in Newham.

As the Council has a normal retirement age of 65, the maximum age for recruiting new employees will usually be 64 1/2.
