Archive Team Manager

The purpose of this role is to manage a designated team of archivists, and occasional volunteers, in order to manage and deliver the archive programme of MoLAS. Specific responsibilities include:

• Liaising with internal and external archive customers and with suppliers of archive material to quality assure and deliver the creation, collation and presentation of archaeological archives for deposition in public archives.
• Manage, mentor and develop members of the archive team.
• Develop capabilities and procedures within the archive team to support MoLAS’ future archive needs and drive efficiencies in the archiving process
• To contribute to budget planning and to manage the team budget
• To efficiently deliver the MoLAS archiving plan while maintaining all relevant standards

The successful candidate will be capable of planning their own work and working with minimal supervision. They will be delivery focussed and have relevant records management experience. Experience in the archaeology sector is desirable.
