The purpose of this role is to ensure that MoLAS archives and all archives currently on loan to MoLAS are maintained in an orderly fashion and handed over in consultation with Project Managers to the appropriate archaeological repository when complete. Responsibilities include:
•To collate and prepare archaeological project archives in accordance with relevant standards
•To liaise with suppliers of archive materials and staff of public archives to improve input standards and to assure timely delivery of the archive plan
•To maintain inventories and database records including project site codes, transfer and loan details and MoLAS publications and reports
•To supervise volunteers and student placements where needed
•To deal with external enquiries regarding MoLAS archive
The successful candidates will be capable of planning their own work and working with minimal supervision. They will be delivery focussed and have relevant records management or archaeological experience.
