We are seeking a positive, flexible, proactive individual to work in our innovative, forward thinking Accountancy Team, within the Finance Unit at Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
As someone who has significant relevant accountancy experience, or an appropriate part qualified accountancy qualification, the successful candidate will support the Principal Accountant and the Accountancy Team in the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, accounting systems maintenance, development projects, key reconciliations and routine processing.
As well as demonstrating your positive, flexible, and proactive approach, you will also be supportive and innovative, bringing creative flair to the development and improvement of financial processes and the delivery of accountancy services for the Council. In addition, you will be expected to work accurately and methodically under pressure, with minimum supervision.
You will need to have a broad understanding of the key financial processes required in a complex organisation. The ideal candidate will have developed ICT skills and will be committed to the progression of these skills. Specific experience of supporting users, and controlling/developing systems would be an advantage.
