We are currently seeking an Assistant Coordinator (Home Learning Project) to assist the Home Learning Project Coordinator in coordinating, developing and delivering the Home Learning Project, meeting the performance milestones and maintaining the standards of Refugee Support and Metropolitan Support Trust.
The Home Learning Project in London provides volunteer ESOL teachers and learning mentors, to give home-based one-to-one English language tuition and support for refugees unable to access mainstream classes. The project aims to facilitate independent living, future access to classroom learning and community involvement, and to combat isolation, loneliness and exclusion.

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills and experience below:
• Recognised TESOL/TEFL qualification and experience of teaching TESOL/TEFL to adults.
• Strong awareness of current issues in ESOL provision within the UK
• Ability to plan and develop services according to set objectives
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work well in a team, but also to use own initiative
• The ability to work in the evenings or at the weekend, as required
It is desirable for the appointed candidate to have:
• Volunteer management experience (or minimum previous personal experience of volunteering)
• Experience of planning, designing and implementing training courses
• Significant experience and familiarity with issues surrounding refugees, asylum and immigration
You will also need to possess an intermediate level of IT literacy. A definition of the term ‘intermediate’ can be found in the job profile. Due to the nature of this post, a Criminal Records Bureau check will be undertaken for the successful applicant, but only with their prior consent.

Salary: £23,355 per annum, pro rata
