You will be providing technical support and handling enquiries from the public in relation to development. You will also be examining planning applications, including site visits, consulting interested parties and negotiating, where appropriate. In addition, for the full range of Development Control and enforcement duties you will be able to progress to making recommendations for members– preparing committee reports, and on occasion, appeal statements.
As a minimum you will need good organisational skills, a proven interest in the environment and an ability to work to tight deadlines. Ideally you will have planning skills and experience within a Planning department, knowledge of legislation and good persuasive skills.
