Westside Support Services, part of the Shepherds Bush Housing Group have an opportunity for an Assistant Support Worker. We have more than 20 years experience in providing vulnerable customers with high quality accommodation and the care and support services they need to live independently. Our mission is to “….provide affordable, high quality housing and support services which respond flexibly to individual needs and enable service users to maintain maximum independence.”
As an Assistant Support Worker you will work as part of a team assisting with the provision of the Domestic Violence Floating Support service. You will be responsible for a caseload providing needs assessments, risk assessments, support planning and safety planning, as well as refering clients to appropriate external agencies such as Social Services, Police, Housing Providers, MARAC, Benefits Agency.
Assistant Support Workers assist clients to maximise their income through benefits and maintain up to date knowledge in this area. They assist Support Workers in providing person centred support to vulnerable people which improves the quality of the individuals’ lives, promotes independent living and is relevant to the individuals changing needs
Our experienced team of Support Workers and Managers will provide regular supervision, and training is provided in order that individual service user needs can be best met. Assistant Support staff will be expected to contribute positively to the process of support and care planning. Relevant experience of housing, care services, community development or related field is therefore desirable.
