Are you ambitious and looking to progress your social work career? Bracknell Forest is an authority where every child who accesses a service receives good or outstanding support - a 'Good' authority with 'Outstanding' features - Ofsted Inspection of services for children in need of help and protection, children looked after and care leavers – May 2017.
Our Over 11’s team provides continuity throughout the child’s journey; either through rehabilitation with the families/extended family or Long Term Fostering. We are performing at a high level; with manageable caseloads, staff who are enthusiastic and committed including a strong team of support staff. We are committed to raising standards of practice, forward-thinking and currently rolling out the innovative Family Safeguarding model of practice bringing together a co-located, multi-agency team with colleagues specialising in substance misuse, adult mental health, domestic abuse and access to clinical psychologists to address the issues that place children at risk of harm.
As Assistant Team Manager, you will share supervision of team members, (the Over 11’s team works using a POD system), deputising for the team manager in their absence and help develop existing good performance and practice. As a qualified and HCPC registered social worker with extensive experience of working with children in need and their families, your experience will include child protection case work including court and permanency work with a sound understanding of all assessment work.
If this is your first step into management, Bracknell Forest offers excellent peer support from other team managers through an Action Learning Set and has a well-respected and much appreciated range of learning and development opportunities.
If you have the skills, vision, enthusiasm and drive we are looking for and you want to work for a local authority that values and invests in staff, we would love to hear from you.
