Reading Children’s Services are currently looking for Social Work Assistant Team Managers, to join our dynamic, child-focused service. You will have substantial post-qualifying experience in statutory child care.
We have full-time vacancies within the Access and Assessment Team and in the Area Teams.
The Access and Assessment Team is responsible for managing all new referrals within Childrens Social Care and undertaking a range of assessments and interventions; cases will include child-in-need, child protection and looked after children whilst the Area Teams work with high level child-in-need cases in both the short and long term, child protection cases and looked after children.
As an Assistant Team Manager you will supervise and manage a small group of social workers and social work assistants. You will lead them in the delivery of high quality interventions, thorough and timely assessments and proficient court work.
Reading has a dynamic approach to ensuring continuous improvement. Initiatives include the embedding the Signs of Safety approach to encompass both our Service and Partners; the formation of a Quality and Performance Management framework to monitor outcomes for Children and Families and the adoption of the MASH (multi-agency safeguarding hub) model. Workforce development remains a key priority and to reflect this we have integrated the Professional Capabilities Framework into our appraisal system and employ a dedicated Practice Mentor to work with Newly Qualified and Post Qualified staff. We are ambitious and committed to developing our staff and teams and our staff benefit from College of Social Work membership and reimbursement for HCPC registration. We also provide access to Research in Practice and CC Inform via the Higher Specialist social work role to encourage the continued development of evidence-based practice.
We will offer you a substantial package which combines support, reward and benefits as well as offering exciting career and personal development opportunities.
