Over 500,000 people in the UK have autism. Together with their families, they make up over two million people whose lives are touched by autism every single day. At the NAS, our vision is a world where all people living with autism get to lead the life they choose.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a pioneering day service under the direction of the Area Day Services Manager. You must be able to display a sound knowledge and understanding of autism and autism specific approaches with experience working in a comparable senior role in a health & social care environment.

You will be leading a team of educational practitioners in the delivery of a curriculum tailored to the needs of individuals, there will be an expectation to participate in some scheduled teaching sessions, leading by example and mentoring/coaching other staff.

An NVQ or Diploma at L3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent is essential. A recognised teaching qualification would be an advantage and a full UK driving licence is desirable.

This post is based at Ty Ddraig day service Cardiff (Splott) mainly Monday to Friday office hours but requires a degree of flexibility to meet service needs.

NAS Benefits include: Pension scheme, sick pay, 25 days’ annual leave plus statutory bank holidays, full induction and professional development opportunities for the successful candidates.

Applications are sought from all suitably qualified sections of the community but particularly welcome from those with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger syndrome.

Please note this post requires us to ask about your criminal record/s and proceed with an Enhanced Disclosure application. You will also be required to complete a pre-placement Health questionnaire.

The NAS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and adults who use our services and as such expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
