We are seeking an enthusiastic motivated person, with a positive “can do” approach, who enjoys working as part of a busy customer focused team. You will be involved with the assessment and payment of claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit and you must respond well to working in a pressurised and demanding environment.

You must have excellent oral and written communication skills and you must have respect and sensitivity for customers’ individual needs. You will have worked with the public or, alternatively, you may have experience in dealing with the public through voluntary work or similar activities. Ideally, you will also have previous experience of interpreting complex information such as government legislation or policy documents.

You should have 8 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications). If you do not hold formal qualifications at this level, but feel that you are able to demonstrate that your knowledge, previous experience and skills are of an equivalent standard, you are invited to apply.
