Location:Based in Weston-super-Mare (The post holder will be required to travel to school sites across North Somerset)

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic practitioner to work with other professionals within BIP (the Behaviour Improvement Programme). BIP is an exciting service which, through early intervention and support, works with vulnerable learners (Foundation – KS 4) and those at risk of exclusion from school.
The Family Support worker will work with children and young people and their families or carers using creative and age appropriate methods to improve social interaction and relationships.
You will have:
- Experience of working with children and young people either in a group work setting or through providing one to one support.
- A recognised NVQ level 3 or 4 in caring for children (or equivalent eg NNEB) or significant relevant experience of children and families – 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English GCSE grade A* – C or Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 on the NQF or equivalent.
This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
