Sevenoaks District Council is seeking to re-establish an in-house Building Control Service committed to providing high quality, customer focused service delivery, successfully operating in a competitive environment.

The Council is committed to ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and welfare are maintained through the building control process, safeguarding the environment and being in a leading position to respond to the new challenges facing the future of building control. We will continue to build on our well-established, sound relationships with architects, surveyors and developers.

We are seeking to recruit motivated ambitious Building Control Surveyors to help shape the future of the Building Control Team. Ideally, you should be part or fully qualified AB(Eng) or RICS (Building Faculty), able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of building control legislation, including plan checking and site inspections. Good communication and IT skills are also important.

Applications are welcome from experienced and/or newly qualified building control surveyors. Starting salary will be dependent upon skills and experience. The team is currently under review and opportunities for advancement will exist for those demonstrating the required qualities.
