Building Surveyor

Property Services offer professional and construction related services to Housing, Community Care and other Corporate Directorates. The department is made up of a number of professional surveying and trade teams that deal with the majority of the Housing, Day to Day, Planned Maintenance and Corporate Projects.

We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated individual that is keen to work in a fast moving and constantly evolving Public Sector. Reading Borough Council manages a significant portfolio of buildings and is responsible for maintenance at both a day to day and planned level.

You will need to be a good communicator with a proven background in building maintenance, construction and project management. You will hold a professional building qualification to HNC or Degree level.

You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, liaising with clients to provide a high quality and professional service. Works will include, all element of building surveying from fault diagnosis to project management from inception to final account, you will have budgetary control of specific projects and will report to the Building Surveying Team Leader.

Successful candidates will normally start at the first point of the grade to which they are appointed.
