The Role

Community Education Lewisham is looking to appoint a part time Café Assistant.

You will report to the Site Manager and be responsible for delivering a professional customer focused service, that promotes a friendly, welcoming environment for all CEL learners and visitors whilst maintaining exceptional levels of efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the café and, where appropriate, promote the services of CEL in conjunction with communication plans as directed by the Site Manager. You will also be expected to manage stock levels and to indicate low levels to the Site Manager and to be responsible for the taking of monies in return for the sale of goods at the CEL site.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar environment and ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations. You will have strong attention to detail and you will be committed to maintaining the welfare of CEL’s learners, particularly vulnerable adults.

This post is based at our Brockley Rise Centre working the evening shift which is 6 hours per week from 19.15 to 20.45 for 30 weeks – term time only.
