Car Badge Officer (part time post)

18 hours per week – spread over 3 days per week – days to be agreed but the applicant must be able to work on a Friday.

We need a friendly, confident person to assess applications for our highly valued Blue Badge team, which provide parking benefits for disabled people. Working to clear guidelines and procedures, you will provide expert advice to the public, maintain accurate records on our social care database and communicate with people by letter, telephone and in person to let them know the outcome of their applications.

Educated to at least GCSE or NVQ standard or equivalent, you will have previous experience of providing advice and information over the telephone, an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, word and excel and Internet applications and excellent admin skills. The ability to deal sensitively with a wide range of people and work within guidelines will be essential. You will need an understanding of the issues affecting people with disabilities and a flexible approach to working hours.

An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure will be required for this role.
