We are looking to recruit two Care and Support Assistants to join our Learning Disabilities Services in Mansfield Woodhouse Nottingham, on an interim basis providing personal care, home care and housing related support to vulnerable adults. The ability to work flexibly to ensure individual needs are met whilst maximising independence and choice and respecting privacy and dignity. These posts are on an interim basis until 31st August 2012.

The successful candidate will provide assistance with care and support needs. You will also provide domestic support such as light household cleaning and cooking.

To be successful in this role the post holder should have experience of providing home care/personal care and support to vulnerable people, an understanding of the Service User group and knowledge of health and safety issues relating to care and support of vulnerable people.

It is essential for the post holder to have the ability to work flexibly to meet Service User and service requirements and to undertake moving and handling tasks (including pushing of wheelchairs). It is essential that the post holder should have an NVQ Level 2 in related subject area or equivalent, or a willingness to undertake NVQ training is essential.

You must have good customer communication skills and an understanding of the difficulties faced by vulnerable people with a disability and how their needs may be met. Experience of working with people with learning disabilities would be an advantage.

This position will cover a 7 day rota as and when required and potentially on calls for which an additional payment will be made.
