Philpots Manor School is an independent co-educational residential special school and training centre based on the social and educational principles of Rudolf Steiner. The centre has been established for over 50 years and they are now seeking a Care Co-ordinator to join their already established management team. The centre has undergone some exciting new changes and now requires a Care Co-ordinator to live in during term time to co-ordinate the residential and day care provision of the School including line management of up to 25 care staff. The main duties and responsibilities will include: monitoring and compliance of statutory duties, student admission, monitoring student progress, crisis intervention, liaison with parents & other agencies, child protection, writing and reviewing policies, close liaison with education coordinator and teachers to ensure the schools ethos is being adhered to. The successful candidate will need to show evidence of the following skills, knowledge, personal competencies and qualities at point of application and interview: Hold NVQ Level 4 in Care Management or equivalent Line management experience Experience of working with young people with Social, emotional and behavioural difficulties Experience in the setting and monitoring of standards with proven ability of liaising and consulting with external agencies. Multi-disciplinary working Consultation and negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal skills Good IT skills Leadership Ability to manage residential and non-residential care staff Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation Form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people Ability to work under pressure Build effective working relationships. Benefits Salary £28,000 – £30,000 pa Working Hours 9am – 6pm Monday – Friday term time ( Sunday – Thursday 6pm – 9pm on call for emergencies) Working hours in School holidays 9am – 3pm for five weeks per year Holidays – 11 weeks per year Free parking Fully expensed one bedroom self contained flat Full board provided during term time Training and further development provided You will need to have a full UK driving licence to apply and have access to a car, and also a CRB Enhanced Disclosure check is required for this post.
