LB Islington, Planning and Development POST TITLE: Career Grade Planner - Planning Policy Team, 2 Full time fixed term posts, until 31 March 2020. GRADE: This is a Career Grade post ranging from SO1 to PO4 grades; we are looking to appoint at the lower to mid-range of the scale at grades SO1 – PO2 £29,424 - £36,912 p.a. Islington is a diverse and vibrant inner London borough, which continues to experience a large amount of development and change. We have imaginative planning policies, a positive and open attitude to growth, and a desire to secure development which addresses key local priorities such as maximising the delivery of genuinely affordable housing. The review of the existing Local Plan is underway, and we are working to a very ambitious timescale for adopting the revised Plan. In this post you are likely to be involved in a range of tasks, such as supporting the preparation of different elements of the Local Plan; helping with preparation of Supplementary Planning Documents; advising on planning applications and supporting colleagues in planning appeals; supporting the preparation of technical evidence base documents and Article 4 Directions; and supporting the neighbourhood planning process. We are looking for a dynamic and hardworking individual, either a graduate or someone at an early stage in their career, who will play a key role in taking forward the Local Plan review and in responding to new planning challenges facing the borough. The post offers a friendly team environment, flexible working hours, generous annual leave and a pension scheme. Closing date: Sunday 30 July 2017 at 23:59 Interviews are likely to take place during August 2017, but please note there will be flexibility around interview dates to accommodate holidays where necessary.
