Careline Bank Staff

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of Careline/CCTV Operators. The Call Centre Service operates 24-hours 365-days per year and incorporates alarm-monitoring connections to the elderly and vulnerable in Richmond and neighbouring boroughs.

Operators will answer the Council’s out of hour’s emergency calls for Richmond’s residents and on behalf of other organisations, as well as operating the CCTV system in Richmond Town Centre and in other parts of the borough.

Bank staff in Careline supplement the permanent workforce and you will be required to work 8-hour shifts that include nights, weekends and bank holidays, including Easter and Christmas.

Applicants will:

  • need to have excellent communication and telephone skills in order to deal with service users and carers who may require emergency assistance
  • be able to liase with various professional agencies
  • be able to demonstrate an ability to maintain accurate manual and computerised records
  • be able to operate a range of IT systems with a willingness to undertake training as part of the induction process and as part of the on going development process
  • be expected to work calmly and efficiently using their own initiative
  • have the ability to prioritise your workload whilst dealing with emergency situations

Some knowledge and understanding of CCTV and the legal requirements for monitoring would be an advantage. Successful candidates will be required to undertake SIA CCTV licensing exam.

Criminal Records Bureau checks will be undertaken on successful candidates.

Post entry training is available to employees to study for specific qualifications. We allow day release or block release facilities for study, examination fees, additional travelling, etc. Additionally we can offer an array of In-House training courses, and the suitability of these for your development would be discussed with your relevant manager during the appraisal process.
