Role Purpose Tower Hamlets’Communications and Marketing Service is seeking to appoint a Chief Designer ona full-time basis. Our design work is crucialin supporting behaviour change and awareness campaigns that will improve thelives of thousands of people. Our audiences are vibrantand diverse. Tower Hamlets offers the best of London in one borough, combiningmajor economic centres including Canary Wharf and City Fringe; destinationssuch as the Tower of London and Brick Lane; and one the country’s most diverseand culturally rich populations. We need a first classChief Designer who can mix the creativity of producing and commissioning highquality design work with the discipline of planning workloads, managing ourbrand and design guidelines along a team of marketing officers and a designer. The post holder will be expected to: * To lead the council’s design work to ensure that inhouse and commissioned work is of high quality, consistent, innovative andcustomer focused. * To have overall responsibility for the council’s brandincluding strategic thinking for new and existing brands and updating our brandguidelines. * To manage the flow of work that delivers to a highlevel. * To be an integral part of the campaign processincluding advising on designs, materials and channels to reach our audiences. * To be responsible for design and print softwaremanagement systems including Panacea. Key Responsibilities The post holder will be responsible for thecouncils design work, ensuring high quality designs support our campaigns andmake a difference to people’s lives. You will also manage the council’s brandwith the assistance of our marketing officers, to help build our reputationamong our communities, investors and stakeholders. Requirements You will have an excellent understanding andexperience of delivering design for a large organisation. You will be experienced in helping to delivereffective campaigns across organisations and measuring their results. You will be experienced in working withsenior managers and managers. Strong partnership working and the ability toassess complex issues are essential.
