We are seeking an exceptional and experienced social work professional to act as lead officer for child protection work within Family Services and Social Work(FSSW).This dynamic role will contribute to the on-going development of high quality child protection practices which meet both performance targets and practice standards.
- Diploma in social work or equivalent qualification.
- HCPC registration.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Experience in chairing case conferences or similer complex meetings.
Ability to offer advice and consultation on child protection matters.
At least 6 years experience of social work practice including supervision and managing staff within a childcare service.
Knowledge and understanding of child care legislation
Ability to present information and advice clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Experience of and understanding of the role of quality assurance within childcare practice
An up to date knowledge and understanding of new developments and challenges in social work

The postholder will be lead on developing a good,consistent and effective child protection practice that meets children’s needs, legal responsibilities within the departmental and safeguarding board.
In order to apply for this role you will be a qualified Social Worker with a least 6 years post qualifying experience which will include experience of staff supervision and management. You will be able to demonstrate a proactive nature and will be able to use your own initiative to improve the provision of care for children.
You must be able to demonstrate that you have advanced skills and knowledge within childcare practice and have extensive experience of chairing complex meetings.
