Putney Library, operated by GLL, is looking for a Children's Services Library Volunteer. It is one of 11 libraries operated by GLL in the London Borough of Wandsworth, who issue the most books out of every local authority in London. The library gives access to a wide variety of collections and resources including books, CD and DVD loans, public computers/internet access and study rooms.
With community at the heart of everything we do, as a Children's Services Library Volunteer, you will ensure that every visitor to the Library is welcomed into a clean, safe and attractive environment that can service their needs and ensure that they want to keep returning. You will be a key support with the annual Summer Reading Challenge which takes place during the summer holidays. We aim to increase the participant numbers this year so your support will be invaluable. As well as this, you will help out with everyday tasks such as engaging with children and encouraging them to read - just one of the ways that we, as a charitable social enterprise, help make our communities better.
If you have the passion and skills for this role, apply now.
‘Better’ libraries are run by GLL, a charitable social enterprise with aims to make community places and spaces accessible and affordable for all. We manage 50 libraries in partnership with local authorities to give communities a place to meet, relax, learn and study. We provide leading ICT facilities as well as books, e-books, audio books and DVDs as well as a programme of activities appropriate to the needs and interests of the communities that we serve. We wish to increase the use of, and widen access to, libraries and heritage services and provide customer service that is second-to-none.
GLL is an equal opportunities employer.
