The NSPCC is the UK’s leading children’s charity committed to addressing the causes of child abuse and to work with and through others in order to create societal change. As part of its commitment to safeguarding children at risk of significant harm the NSPCC’s strategy to 2016 has identified seven priority themes, which will focus on the development and delivery of evidence based practice. Check out the Services to Children and Families page on our website to find out more about our strategy.

In Cardiff we are seeking to appoint a Children’s Services Practitioner to be based in our Service Centre in Cardiff.

You will need to have a social work qualification and 2 years post qualifying experience.

The vacancy that we are currently recruiting to in this Service Centre relates to the commission under the theme of Sexual Abuse. The commission relates to the Assessment and Treatment programme for adolescent males who have displayed harmful sexual behaviours. Successful applicants would be expected to deliver services to individual and groups of service users within these specific areas.

It is anticipated that over time all NSPCC services will become time limited and include evaluated approaches, therefore the successful applicant may have an opportunity to develop their skills and abilities in any of the priority themes.

The NSPCC has adopted the principle that in the conduct of public buisness in Wales it will treat the English and Welsh languages on the basis of equality. In respect of these posts the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be advantageous.

Interviews will be held at our Cardiff Service Centre.

For information about these posts please contact: Tracey Holdsworth or Karen Gillard on 0844 892 0290
