Location:World’s End Infant & Nursery School, World’s End Lane, Quinton, Birmingham

The Resource Base for Visually Impaired is shared between World’s End Infant and World’s End Junior Schools, and currently supports the full integration of 7 children, from Nursery to KS2, with a staff of 7 f.t.e. The schools are happy, welcoming and supportive environments, very well-regarded in the local area, and consistently oversubscribed; WEIS has had three successive outstanding Ofsted reports. We are expanding from 2 form to 3 form entry, beginning in September 2012.

This key role has arisen due to the impending retirement of the current co-ordinator. We are looking for a creative and innovative teacher with a passion for teaching and learning and a commitment to inclusion, strong leadership and management skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and support others. Substantial knowledge of, and experience in teaching children with visual impairment is essential (QTVI necessary), as is a working knowledge of Braille.
