Are you looking for your next exciting communications and engagement challenge?
Watford is an ambitious council that thinks big and lives up to its motto of being bold. We have a lot to be proud of and a great story to tell. This is where you come in.
We are now seeking a talented, creative and engaging communicator, confident in delivering strategic and tactical communications and engagement campaigns, focussed on driving success and making a real difference. You will be comfortable working on your own initiative and possess the drive to build successful working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior managers, partners, councillors and our directly elected Mayor.
You will be an enthusiastic and proactive person with a passion for clear, effective communication. You will need to be forward thinking with strong leadership credentials and excellent interpersonal skills.
We pride ourselves on being a progressive council and want you to ensure we are at the cutting edge of the communications and engagement world – making the most of new technologies and ways of working and learning from the best.
We offer you the chance to work for a local authority that has an outstanding reputation as an exciting place to work, with transformational plans in place for both the borough and the council and where you will have a great opportunity to really make your mark. The successful candidate will manage two team members and will also work alongside an external communications and engagement agency, which gives you an exceptional chance to build your own skills and professional experience.
As an experienced and passionate professional who thrives on supporting organisations up their game in the field of communications and engagement, you will inspire others to join you and make this role your own.
