We have an exciting opportunity for nurses interested in Specialist Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting) and health inequalities for children and families.

We are continuing to pilot a new Community Family Nurse role within our Health Visiting service that will work as part of our skill mix team with Health Visitors and alongside Nursery Nurses.

The post-holders will assist to deliver the Healthy Child Programme 0-5 years and packages of health support and interventions to families including safeguarding. You will be required to work with communities and families as well as with babies, infants and young children in assessing, planning and reviewing health needs.

You will ideally have a nursing qualification (diploma/degree) and ideally have demonstrable interest or experience working with young children/families. You will require good team working, communication and organisational skills to support service delivery of public health interventions and family support in a variety of settings.

There are 4.2 full time equivalent posts (consideration may be given to applicants wishing to work at least 0.5wte) and you will work with other Primary Care colleagues and Childrens Centres as part of the Health Visiting service within NE Lincolnshire Council. These posts retain the NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions and the NHS Pension (subject to individual application).

The posts are for a fixed period until 15/9/2013 which coincides with the start of the next the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing: Health Visiting programme, which applicants will be encouraged and supported to apply for. You must be able to evidence recent professional development and an understanding of the public health needs of children and families.
