(Initially based in New Haw, relocating to Chertsey later in 2008)

2 posts: 20 hours per week Monday to Friday 10.30 – 2.30pm and
15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 11am to 2pm.

The Runnymede Community Meals Service (Meals on Wheels) provides up to 170 hot meals a day to the frailest members of our community.

The meals are delivered by means of chef mobile vans which regenerate frozen meals on the way to the customer’s houses.

The role involves loading the vans with meals, driving the vans and then delivering the meals, sometimes within large sheltered housing schemes, so you must be able to cope with several flights of stairs. You will then collect payments and complete the necessary paperwork.

Not only will you enjoy a challenge, you will possess well developed people skills and be sympathetic to the needs of older people. A clean driving licence is essential as are basic literacy and numeracy skills.

If you feel that you have the skills and experience for this position, and are committed to providing high quality services for vulnerable people, we would like to hear from you.

As you will be working with older people a Criminal Records Bureau disclosure check will be undertaken.

For more information or to apply please contact Jayne Mather on 01932 425866 or email jayne.mather@runnymede.gov.uk

CVs will not be considered.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
Closing date: 15th September
Interviews will be held: 16th September
