Do you have experience of working with young people and have an understanding of issues that may concern them, particularly within disadvantaged communities? We are looking for a Community and Youth Development Officer to assist in the delivery of the Council’s Agenda for Young People. Working as part of a small, lively team you will be responsible for increasing opportunities for youth engagement (principally through the organisation and development of the Maidstone Youth Forum) as well as working with partner agencies to support the development of communities, particularly in disadvantaged areas of Maidstone. You will also be involved in overseeing the development of the Youth Café project.
Candidates should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have the ability to work effectively with a range of partner organisations.
