About the role
This is a great opportunity to join the regeneration and development team working on projects to build new homes, schools and community facilities across the borough as part of the Council’s Community Investment Programme (CIP). You will work alongside Senior Development Managers and Development Managers as the lead officer for liaison with residents, as well as the wider community and other stakeholders. You could work on existing regeneration projects or help to develop proposals for new projects within the 15-year programme. The role involves some evening working, and occasional weekends, including making door-to-door visits on estates to collect residents’ views on development proposals. You will be responsible for producing all written communication with residents about your projects and will work with residents to help them participate in the development process.
You will be educated to degree level or with equivalent experience. You will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal and be able to communicate well with a wide variety of interested parties, but particularly residents, including explaining design proposals for their estate. You will have strong organisational skills and be able to arrange plan successful consultation events. You will be able devise questionnaires and surveys to collect resident feedback about development projects. You will be able to analyse this data, compiling it into clear, concise reports for both residents, officers and members that are required to make decisions on taking projects forward.
