As a key regional city and a major gateway to Europe and beyond, Kingston upon Hull is undergoing an exciting renaissance; and with a new Chief Executive in post, the Council is also poised and ready for the next stage in its transformation. We have undergone massive change and a comprehensive improvement programme over the last few years, but we appreciate that there is more to do as we strive to offer our communities the best possible services. We are now looking for an exceptional person to play a leading part in our continued development as an organisation.

Our new Corporate Director of Children and Young People’s Services will be able to build on a strong set of foundations due to the huge strides made over the last fi ve years. We are already one of the fastest improving Authorities when it comes to many key indicators, but initiatives such as the Hull Challenge and our BSF programme show that we are determined to achieve further success.

Tackling deprivation and creating opportunities across the city is a key challenge for all our staff and stakeholders, and candidates will ideally have an understanding of working in an urban setting, as well as a strong track record of success in a relevant service setting.

Perhaps as importantly, we want to hear from candidates with passion, strong emotional intelligence and excellent people skills, keen to make a difference within a new and very ambitious corporate team.
