We are seeking a dynamic and pro-active individual to manage our Corporate Health & Safety team and champion Health & Safety across the organisation.

This is a key role responsible for the management and delivery of the Council’s Health & Safety at Work Strategy and you will be expected to undertake innovative and imaginative initiatives across the directorates to progress health and safety understanding and compliance and bring about any changes.

You will continue to develop the Council’s strategy ensuring the cost-effective delivery of this service within the Council’s strategic objectives and within prescribed budgets.

You will be the principal advisor on Health & Safety matters to elected Members and the Council’s Corporate Management Team.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience working as a Health & Safety Practitioner
• Corporate Member of IOSH and hold a degree or NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
• Experience of managing health and safety in a large complex organisation.
• Experience of managing staff and budgets
