Centrepoint provides Young People with a comprehensive package of support including accommodation, education and employment opportunities and access to specialist health practitioners.
Centrepoint currently works directly with over 1,300 young people every year.
Our vision is to end youth homelessness.
In the role of a Counsellor / Psychotherapist in the Health and Wellbeing Team, you will be responsible for delivering both 1-2-1 counselling sessions and group work to homeless young people who are supported by Centrepoint.
You will have substantial experience of working with homeless or vulnerable young adults aged 16-25 in a mental health setting. You will also have a relevant recognised qualification(s) at a masters level or post-graduate level, in the field of psychotherapy, counselling and/ or psychology. In addition, you must be a current accredited or registered member a professional body (i.e. BACP, UKCP or BPS).
As part of a multidisciplinary team, alongside other health practitioners, you will undertake comprehensive assessments of young people’s health needs, risks and vulnerabilities. Your experience of managing a caseload of young people will mean you excel at working in partnership with Centrepoint colleagues, partner organisations, and local services to ensure that young people receive the right level of support to meet their mental, emotional and physical health needs. As a result, you will need a good working knowledge of primary healthcare and public health initiatives, and be keen to learn new skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present issues clearly and concisely to a range of audiences and extensive working knowledge of MS Office – Excel, Access, Word & PowerPoint are essential.
This is a very challenging and exciting role for a person with the relevant skills, self drive, and commitment. You will be an experienced individual who thrives in an environment and culture of innovation and professionalism and who wish to make a real, enduring and sustainable difference to the lives of the some of the most vulnerable young people that Centrepoint support.
