As a Countryside Ranger you will patrol and administer the Council’s open spaces and woodland to ensure they are well maintained, accessible and welcoming to the public. Enforcing regulations and gathering information, you will liaise with Council staff, contractors or volunteers on improvement projects, and courteously assist users of our open spaces.

Although we are not looking for particular qualifications, conservation, woodland/forestry, horticulture, landscape or related knowledge is required and a driving licence is essential. Working on a rota basis in conjunction with another part time Ranger, your duties will be spread over 5 days a week, one of which will be a Saturday or Sunday. Some evening seasonal work will also be required, and also some manual tasks.
