Charnwood Borough Council are seeking to appoint a Customer Advisor to join our Customer Service Centre team, providing face-to-face advice and information to the residents and visitors to Charnwood on a variety of matters on behalf of the Council and its partners.

Duties will include answering customer enquiries relating to a wide range of areas (including Housing, Planning, Council Tax and Benefits among others) and processing these through to a satisfactory conclusion. Whilst a sound knowledge of specific Council services would be an advantage, full training will be given.

You will have excellent communication and listening skills, a commitment and enthusiasm to provide customer care and be able to work well under pressure with a minimum of supervision whilst ensuring consistency and accuracy. You will also be proficient in the use of software systems.

The successful candidate will have at least 12 months recent experience of providing information and advice to the public in a busy face-to-face environment and be capable of handling a range of situations with tact, diplomacy and empathy.
