Our Customer Service Unit is a “one stop shop” for information and advice on all the Council’s services. We want you to join us and become an ambassador for the Council and the District.

As a member of our Customer Service Team, you will be handling customer enquiries by telephone, in person or through the Internet, in a professional and courteous manner, using your initiative and IT systems to resolve queries and record progress. You will always be the first point of contact representing the Council and will therefore need to be able to think on your feet and possess a positive attitude to dealing with potentially difficult situations under pressure. You will thrive on the demands of working in a fast moving and changing environment, where the best interests of our local residents is always at the forefront of our service delivery.

A first class communicator with a flexible, customer-focused approach, you must be able to work as part of a growing team. You’ll have experience of customer service and ICT skills, including MS Office and e-mail, familiarity with the services and procedures of the Council. A good general local knowledge would be an advantage.

This is a temporary appointment for eight months.
