We are currently seeking two debt recovery officers to join our team based at Raleigh House in Nottingham. If you are successful in gaining this role you will be offered a full time Interim contract for 12 Months.
You will be responsible for the provision of an efficient debt collection service for Former Tenant Arrears and Rechargeable Repair related debt in accordance with policy and legislative guidelines, including taking enforcement action where necessary. To ensure that Spirita and Metropolitan Housing Trust`s collection of rental, service charge and other income is maximised but collected in a sensitive manner employing a high standard of customer care in all contacts.
You will be required to achieve relevant income collection objectives and performance targets, maximising customer satisfaction. To address local challenges and opportunities and continuously improve the service, meeting changing needs and demands.
It is essential that you have proven experience of working in a social housing or credit control environment, a proven ability to negotiate payments and collect non-rent possession related debts within a social housing or credit control environment and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
It is also essential that you have a good understanding of all income related issues from an operational perspective, good knowledge of social security benefits, a high standard of literacy and numeracy and be able to complete administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
Also due to the nature of the position it is essential that you posess a good knowledge of the legal framework relating to debt recovery including enforcing judgments and a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle including insurance for business purposes

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A INTERIM CONTRACT FOR TWELVE MONTHS.
