LB Islington, Planning and Development POST TITLE: Deputy Team Leader - Planning Policy Team, Full time permanent post GRADE: PO5 £42,651 - £45,438 p.a. Islington is a diverse and vibrant inner London borough, which continues to experience a large amount of development and change. We have imaginative planning policies, a positive and open attitude to growth, and a desire to secure development which addresses key local priorities such as maximising the delivery of genuinely affordable housing. The review of the existing Local Plan is underway, and we are working to a very ambitious timescale for adopting the revised Plan. In this post you will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including leading on the preparation of statutory Development Plan Documents and Supplementary Planning Documents; representing Islington in the preparation of the new London Plan; leading on the preparation of Article 4s Directions; advising senior management and elected Members on a range of planning policy issues; commissioning technical studies; and managing staff. We are looking for a dynamic, positive and hardworking individual, with extensive relevant experience and expertise of fast-changing London and national planning policy, guidance and legislation. The post holder will help lead on the Local Plan review and on responding to new planning challenges facing the borough.
