Hillingdon’sAccess to Resources team is commissions and purchases a range of servicesincluding placements for children and young people / young adults, residentialand community based family assessments, court directed assessments. The team’sremit continues to grow and develop and is central to the transformationprocess underway in the Council. This post is based in Children’s ResourcesService and works closely with the fostering team and colleagues from Educationand Health.

About the person

As a qualified Social worker, with a minimum of twoyears’ post-qualifying experience within a children and families social work setting,some experience of staff or student supervision, you will work with the team toensure that we operate to the highest standards and in line with statutoryrequirements. You’ll be familiar with The Children Act and all other relevantregulations. Knowledge ofcommissioning and contracting is desirable for this role.

You’ll be able to work closely with the TeamManager to supervise and guide the Access to Resources Duty Team, ensuringevery young person gets a high quality placement and service at the best cost.

With your substantial expertise in children andfamilies social work, you’ll be capable of allocating specific cases and givingprofessional opinions and guidance.A sound grasp of attachment issues andplacement needs of young people from a variety of cultural backgrounds areessential.
