Lewisham is a vibrant and diverse London Borough. Lying at the western end of the designated Thames Gateway area and comprising a built environment of contrasting character, it is home to some 250,000 people.
Led by the Lewisham Gateway proposals for the comprehensive redevelopment of its main town centre and the planned regeneration of the Deptford and Catford areas, the Borough is set to undergo a substantial regeneration programme during the next few years with significant social, economic and environmental improvements.
Alongside this regeneration programme are twenty six conservation areas and some 550 listed buildings. We have an ongoing programme of conservation area appraisals and reviews.

Deputy Urban Design & Conservation Manager
Job Ref: RE1087 Salary: £39,837 – £41,583 pa (PO5)
In addition toy your deputising role, you will take the lead in promoting the highest standards of design in major new developments, be responsible for running the Council’s Design Review Panel and appoint and manage urban design consultants on area and site based renewal projects.
You will be qualified in urban design, planning, architecture, and/or conservation and have considerable experience, particularly in the urban design field.
